Scotland | Edinburgh Photo Essay

Edinburgh stole my heart over a few bitterly cold days in mid January. I fell in love with the architecture, history, culture, heritage and the people. Everywhere you turn there’s great pride in the city’s heritage. Even though I was there for five days I still didn’t get a chance to see everything I wanted to. It’s a great to excuse to return and return I will. I’m even thinking about studying my Masters in Edinburgh once I receive my Honours degree.

Have you been to Edinburgh? What did you think of the city? What’s your favourite thing about Edinburgh?

    1. Thanks Sean ☺ I have a couple of more posts on Edinburgh in the pipeline. That’s a great list you have! Visiting the dungeons and climbing Calton Hill are on my list but I didn’t have time to do. I absolutely loved Edinburgh Castle.

  1. I have never been to Edinburgh but I would love to, it’s very high on my list to places to visit while living in the UK. Your photos are great and show how beautiful and charming the city is.

    1. I like to take my time and really experience a place when I’m travelling and not cram days with activities. It’s a good excuse so you can return ☺

  2. I’ve never been to Edinburgh, but it’s only my list! Your pics are beautiful. I love to see a city’s charm, history, and culture captured in a photo. I’m actually looking into purchasing a camera so I can take quality pics because my iPhone will only give me so much.

    1. Thank you ☺ I don’t have a camera and I can never take great photos with my phone or ipod so I borrowed my brother’s camera. It’s only a cheap Canon one but it did the job ☺

    1. Thank you Ariana ☺ I only stayed in Edinburgh itself and didn’t have time to tour the highlands but I picked up a brochure of a tour company based in Edinburgh who give 1, 2, and 3 day tours of the highlands. They go from Edinburgh city. They’re called Timberbush Tours and their website is I hope that helps ☺
